Tenuta Schifanoia is a 1,500-acre private estate just 30 minutes from Florence. Owned by the Medici family in the 1350s, its size and beauty made it one of their most important Tuscan properties, alongside the neighboring UNESCO World Heritage sites of Trebbio and Cafaggiolo.

We have masterfully restored a select few of our historic farmhouses into world-class private villas. Each residence is a masterpiece of design, preserving centuries-old Tuscan architecture while introducing the pinnacle of modern refinement and comfort.
Our Organic Farm
We operate a fully functioning organic farm year-round with a dedicated staff of agronomists and farmers. We produce sunflower seeds, ancient wheat, chickpeas, spelt, and alfalfa—all grown without fertilizers, pesticides, or irrigation. Today, our harvests serve as the foundational ingredients for renowned flour, oil, and pasta brands.
The Convent of Bosco ai Frati
Nestled within our grounds is a 1,000-year-old convent founded around 600 A.D. Supported by the Medici family, it became a canvas for Renaissance masters like Donatello, Michelozzo, and Fra Angelico. Today, this serene sanctuary invites visitors to explore a captivating blend of history, art, and spirituality.
Our Truffle Hunting Tradition
Thanks to a unique balance of soil, humidity, and ancient oak woodlands, our estate has produced both the black "Scorzone" and the precious white truffle for centuries. We actively work with a team of local truffle hunters—and their cheerful dogs—to preserve this longstanding tradition.
